Two Stunning and Effortless Art Options for Ventura County families

In the 10+ years I’ve been photographing families, I have found two things to be true:

Many people think they care the most about receiving the digital files for their photos.

HOWEVER,

What I’ve found to also be true is that most families don’t actually want, need, or use hundreds of digital images. They want the right ones in the right places, and they want help achieving that.

That’s why I’ve put a lot of thought and time into revamping the way I serve my clients starting this year. I’ve redesigned my session pricing around printed artwork by creating family photography packages in Ventura County for all my clients.

When you invest in a framed piece or fine art prints, you’re choosing photographs that will be seen and loved daily.

I want to do right by my clients. From the moment I get an inquiry about family photography packages, I spend so much time helping them create exactly the kind of family session they’re wanting. When session time rolls around, we have the best time and take tons of beautiful photos. So why should I stop short of giving them everything else they deserve?

Serving my clients right by providing family photography packages that include high quality prints and professionally framed art should be the end goal when all is said and done. Hey, even Popular Science agrees with me.

I could go on and on about the importance of displaying your photos, but I already did that in this blog post. For now, I’m going to highlight the two product offerings that will be included in my collections this year: professional 5×7 prints and custom-designed wall art.

Two of the three family photography packages I’m offering this year include this beautiful glass box with 25 prints of your choosing to be included. To me, this is the same benefit as creating an album but with a little more versatility. You have this gorgeous box to display full of prints you can flip through whenever you want, or that you can take out and share with family or highlight with a frame somewhere in your home. Don’t get me wrong, albums are special and definitely have their place. But to me, when speaking specifically about a family photo session, this feels like a better fit.

The photos are printed on professional photo paper through the professional print lab I use. Their printers are calibrated, which means the colors in the photos will be true to what you see in the digital files you receive (something that can’t be said about lower quality prints, like those from Walmart or a drug store). They also have a lovely white border that adds an elevated touch of elegance.

The heirloom collection I’m offering in my family photography packages this year includes two custom-framed prints. These are framed prints that will be designed exactly to your liking, including the mat size, the mat color, and the frame. The options are truly endless, so I promise to make the selection as straightforward as possible for you.

I’m able to give you previews of what your images will look like in the exact space you want them, and that’s not an exaggeration. I can literally upload an image of the room and the wall where you want to hang them, and we can see to scale what your framed photos will look like on that wall.

The two framed images offered in my heirloom collection are just the beginning of what we can do. If you so choose, I can design a full gallery wall for you as an option to purchase in addition to the heirloom collection with more than two framed photos.

All photos are printed on archival paper at the same professional print lab as the 5x7s I talked about in the section before this one. The glass is UV protective and glare free as an added layer of protection for your artwork.

Make printed artwork the main character

For years – literal years – I have wanted to offer printed artwork to my clients with family photography packages. When I first considered selling printed images to the families I photographed, I myself was a mom with young children. I knew the importance of having those images printed, but I was also, just, tired all the time. I didn’t have the mental bandwidth or the time really to properly devote to helping my clients get the kind of artwork I really wanted for them. So instead, I did what a lot of other photographers were doing, and I just shared the digital images.

Fast forward about 8 years, and now my life and the time I have to give to my business, is very different. Our kids are in school, not toddling around in diapers, and I am, for the most part, not sleep deprived anymore.

When I started including an online store with the galleries I sent to my clients, families starting purchasing physical prints and artwork through those galleries. They would reach out to me with questions about the artwork they were looking for, and I realized there was a major gap in the way I was showing up for these people I created these photos for.

There is time and space now for me to dream bigger for the families I serve, and this is the year I’m finally putting all of that into action.
